What We Do

Some years ago the Borough Engineer of a local Council was in discussion with a man who ran a successful firm of contractors.  He asked whether the company could cope if something slightly different was included in the work that he was about to order. The contractor said "I'll run down the High Street stark naked if the price is right."

We won't go quite that far*, but within reason we can undertake pretty well anything in the way of plumbing. At the simplest level there's straightforward fixing of your dripping tap inside or out. At the other end of the scale there's refitting bathrooms and kitchens, and replacing boilers.

A lot of these jobs involve specialist electrical and carpentry work. For anything that we can't do ourselves we have a number of specialist craftsmen with whom we work regularly. We're happy to use these as subcontractors, or to have you employ them directly.

We're happy to work for individuals, landlords, or letting agents etc, and we like to think that we understand the needs of different types of client.

For individuals:

We're happy to carry out any works for owner-occupiers. We're sensitive to the fact that we're in your home, and we do everything possible to minimise the inconvenience caused while we're working. Customers who've used us to do work on their elderly relatives' homes have thanked us for the way we've coped with the unfortunate memory problems from which some elderly people suffer.

For landlords and letting agents:

There are a lot of properties on the rental market nowadays, and tenants can afford to be choosy. Property will rent more quickly if everything is modern and in good working order. Unfortunately it's often only when you're suddenly between tenants that you get the chance to renew that boiler, or refurbish that bathroom.

We can carry out repairs and renewal on empty properties, bringing them back to ‘like-new’ condition for the next tenants. This work can be carried out to tight deadlines minimising the number of days a property remains empty between lets. We don't always work on empty properties however, and we have a track record of being able to keep both landlords and tenants happy during our work.

Apart from simply carrying out work as instructed, we are also happy to offer advice on cost options for more major works, such as kitchen and bathroom refits. Taken with professional advice from agents on rent levels, this should enable landlords to make cost-effective decisions on expenditure.

For estate agents:

Is the condition of a property putting off prospective purchasers? Looking at TV programmes it seems all purchasers expect their new home to be immaculate. We know that isn't the case, especially with probate sales, ex-rental properties etc. We can offer a rapid service to spruce-up a shabby bathroom or kitchen and help you get the property sold.

*The man who said that has since sold the company for £30million.

That's probably why we're still working for a living and he isn't.
